Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 7 am–4 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (916) 822-4698. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is lacostacafesac.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 356 reviews, which is a strong result for a cafe in Sacramento and suggests consistent service.
Sacramento is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Traffic in Sacramento peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

7 stars!!!!!!!! Was there yesterday with two friends. The food and drinks were delicious. Very high quality and portions perfect! We accidentally ordered a very spicy shrimp ceviche. It was too hot to handle for us. The manager and staff were extremely kind and found a very humane solution/approach for us. They were courteous, thoughtful, caring AND professional. This place is a 7 stars experience for me. Can't wait to go back again when I visit Sacramento in the future. Thank you for your high level of customer service. I appreciate you and your team. Keep up the fantastic work you do at this cafe!

Chilaquiles were overrated. The black beans liquid made my dish kind of soupy. It basically was salsa verde on tortilla chips. Mollete my husband had was good however his mocha wasn’t the best. It was bitter which I guess would be enjoyable if you like a very bitter chocolate. Went here on my birthday was a lil sad after trying this place out

Really cool vibe and food worthy of revisit. Coffee was good and will be back to check out the munch ceviche and other menu items. A little tight seating for more that 2 people but sidewalk seating has plenty when weather is good.

Excellent service, order your food at the counter and have a seat. The avocado toast chorizo was delicious. Matcha was piping hot (the did not have almond milk but do have oat milk) overall great experience here.

I live so close but have avoided stopping in due to the line. My boyfriend and I decided to see what the hype was about and I’m so glad we did! The line was worth the wait for us. We had the breakfast tacos, tamales (pork) and vanilla iced lattes or brown sugar lattes. All of it was fresh, delicious and flavorful. We are already talking about the next menu item we want to try next when we return. Recommend! :)
